Biography

 

DJ Dusk is a Top 10 finalist in EMI’s She Can DJ competition after being selected as one of the best ’s in Australia & NZ by the major label. Since winning the UK’s DJ MAG International Pick n Mix competition, Dusk has seen a long list of accolades, bookings, killer sets and production credits fall underneath her name including initiating her own take on boosting the scene in an event called Tribe back in ’04 a collaboration of female DJs, MCs and artists performing to a backdrop of breaks, drum n bass and hip hop.

Continuing to champion female Djs, Dusk helped initiate the all-female house, breaks & electro night Booty Beats at pioneering house club Savvy Bar, also being invited to join the Adelaide Breaks Collective as official promotion representative and . Later that year, she picked up 2 nominations at the South Australian Dance Awards as a Breaks DJ, and for her specialist radio show with Fresh FM.

Internationally, Dusk spent a few years bringing her sound to France, , the UK, Beijing, New Zealand, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur, and Kota Kinabalu, and in 2011 alone, she hit the international circuit once more with performances in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, , Greek Islands, Thailand, and Hong Kong, finally headlining the Cairo Nights event in the Egyptian capital. Based in Thailand in late 2011, Dusk was resident DJ in some of Koh Samui’s most prominent venues including Solo Bar and Fusion.

Since then, Dusk has branched out, genre dabbling in a new brand of mash-up party style, taking on disco, urban, house, pop and more. Again, she found herself recognized, this time being the only female DJ in South Australian history to be nominated to compete in the global Redbull Thre3Style DJ battle – a competition emphasizing quick thinking mash-up party blends and elements of live .

Her versatility ranges from techno, electro, and house through to break beats and party sets incorporation pop, disco, rnb and more. Also hard at work in the studio on newer and bigger productions, further original releases are on the horizon in the near future. Dusk was recently included in the 2012 Malaysian XPLAY tour featuring some of the world’s most prominent female DJ’s . Also a headline slot in one of the worlds most infamous party destinations, Goa, India to ring in 2013 in one of Goa’s best international resorts -Bardot. DJ Dusk continues to tour Australia’s most famous clubs for EMI, under the She Can DJ brand.

These significant compilations were followed up by remix orders in Europe for Superstar Inna & Flo Rida (Romania & USA) Anda Adam (Romania), Guesta Project (France) and Maddison (), which he produced with Josh Green among others. These key collaborations were strengthened by later features with popular singers, including Tony T. and Akay (Overground, 2003, platinum in for the album “It’s Done”, 2003 Bravo Otto Gold, 2004, gold record with “TV Allstars” and “Schick mir ’nen Engel” (Send me an Angel), Best Newcomer 2004).

Further opportunities presented themselves around the world by popular demand. Radio shows titled “Electro Grooves” are presented weekly in France, Singapore, Indonesia, Egypt, Greece, the Netherlands and Germany. He made his professional app, uniquely named “iPat”, available for free in the App Store to keep his fans up-to-date on the latest dates, photos, radio shows and news.

Pat was caught by the house/electro wave in 2006 and his talent and strong ambition have since propelled his career to the top. His “Electro Grooves Vol. 1” reached no. 8 in the Swiss charts in 2008. In collaboration with Chris Reece (producer of Dinka, Daniel Portmann, EDX) he also produced singles including Pay no Mind, Confused, Clocks, Sister Walk Away und Marshmallow Dream, all of which climbed to the top 2 in the download charts. International gigs in , Germany, Austria, Greece and Turkey followed.

As well as running a successful DJ business, he is also an active co-producer and event organizer. He has had great success with his party labels “Sensational”, “Electro Grooves (EG)” and “5h Marathon”. He has been drawing in fans at the Street Parade in his “lovemobile” since 2001. The Street Parade is one of the biggest techno festivals in the world, attracting more than 1 million visitors every year.

Oggi 14 febbraio 2013 a Ben Pearce hanno fatto un bel regalo: la sua “What i Might Do” è Disco d’Oro. Numero uno da più di tre settimane nella classifica Dance di iTunes e terzo in quella generale, Pearce si aggiudica il terzo posto anche nella classifica ufficiale F.I.M.I/Gfk Top Digital Download. In breve tempo ha conquistato tutto l’airplay radiofonico e attualmente si trova al 21esima posizione del Nielsen Control e di Earone. Il video nella hitlist su Mtv ha raggiunto quasi 1 milione e mezzo di views solo sul canale EgoTv.

Nato e cresciuto nella periferia di Manchester, Ben Pearce è oggi uno dei più quotati sulla scena deep house .  “What I Might Do” è stato nominato Essential New Tune da Pete Tong su BBC Radio 1. Top 3 su , è in assoluto uno dei singoli più chiacchierati degli ultimi mesi. La MTA Records, che ha pubblicato per prima il singolo, è la label dei Chase & Status che pubblica gli artisti numero uno come il re del dubstep Nero. Capace di conquistare tutti da Berlino a Ibiza, “What I Might Do” è uno dei singoli più interessanti degli ultimi tempi.

In Manchester (UK), Ben cut his teeth with many years running and DJ-ing for a successful night and is now producing records with an ever filling gig diary. With a childhood spent enjoying heavy metal and pop punk, he moved into electronic music in his late teens.

His first full length EP is a track tipped to be one of the tracks of the year, with the radio exclusive on 07.09.12 by Pete Tong on his Radio1 Essential Mix. The track has been highly supported by names such as Solomun, David August, Waifs & Strays, H.O.S.H, Tiger & Woods. The “What I Might Do” EP lands on MTA Records/Under The Shade on 01.10.12 with remixes from Adam Shelton, Bonar Bradberry (PBR Streetgang & Harry Wolfman).

A remix for swedish band Sailor & I was released for a free download via his facebook page in June, and several other tracks are poking their way out onto the circuit including a follow up release on Under The Shade “Just Enough”.

In late 2011, Ben was made Creative Director at Purp & Soul; an already established brand by friend Chris Farnworth. Together they have formed a label/agency which is going from strength to strength forging family ties with 6 artists so far on the roster. Showcases have sold out in this country and abroad and their label continues to build momentum.

Converted from a to a disco back in 1976, Amnesia is where the spirit was born, Bob Marley performing in ’78 and resident spinning everything from rock, disco and new wave to early Chicago house, inspiring the likes of Danny Rampling to take his style back to the and open the gates of a new kind of dance experience.

From that acorn has grown a mighty oak, expanding in size, adding a roof, and kitting itself out in bespoke state-of-the-art sound, designed to submit frequencies that massage the body. Having won Best three times at the as a result, and attracted loaded stars like Puff Daddy and Naomi Campbell to hear massive brands including Cocoon, Cream and more recently MTV, it’s no wonder everyone wants a piece of the action. Coming soon are four franchises which have a strict set of criteria to ensure they honour the spirit of the original club.
